Now that we’ve passed summer holiday season, many of us will be fondly reliving memories of our visits to sunnier climes, but there are still some fantastic reasons to get away this October.
1. Get away from the drizzle. Sadly there’s no denying that, after the magically sunny week we’ve had, the British summer is well and truly over. The good news is that October is the perfect time to visit hotter locations such as Egypt, Jamaica or Fiji. It may be shallow, but who doesn’t love smugly striding back into the office with a Mediterranean glow?
2. Spend your Airmiles before you lose out. An overhaul of the popular rewards programme means that flyers normally rewarded with free flights will, from November, be forced to pay air and fuel taxes so that a formerly free flight to New York could cost as much as £300. Book during October to make the most of your Airmiles before the changes come in.
3. Get an extra hour’s worth of holiday. In Britain, the clocks go back on the last Sunday of the month allowing us to have an extra hour in bed. But what if that extra hour was in a boutique hotel in Paris? About a third of the world now observes daylight saving time (called British Summer Time here in the UK), including all of Europe, the US and half of Australia.
4. There are no kids in sight! For those without children, October (avoiding half-term of course) is a great time to enjoy peace and quiet at the popular resorts, with no splashing in the pool and screaming kids on the beach. Parents, there’s no shame in palming the little ones off with granny and escaping to an island paradise too.
5. Airport parking is much cheaper. Book your holiday in October and benefit from a range of cheap parking options, including Meet & Greet, Park & Ride, on-site and off-site parking. Looking4Parking vets all car parks to make sure they meet our high standards of service and security. This time of year there is less competition for spaces, making it cheaper for you to park. Plus, keep an eye out on our website, Facebook and Twitter pages for special voucher codes throughout October to benefit from further discounts.
So what are you waiting for?
